The Cuel wind farm is located in Los Ángeles city in the Bíobío region of Chile. Mainstream fully developed the project in association with local authorities, municipalities and the community.

Construction of all 22 turbines was completed Q1 2014 and, in February 2014, the project started to generate power and sold on the spot market – a first in the industry.

Subsequently, Cuel was sold into the Aela Energía platform, the joint venture company between Mainstream and Actis. In 2022, Canadian-listed Innergex Renewable Energy purchased the Aela Energía platform.
